- September 2, 2008: First Day of School (first term begins)
1st installment of tuition is due - October 13th, 2008: Closed for Thanksgiving
- December 12, 2008: Second installment of tuition is due
- December 24th–January 2nd, 2009: Closed for winter holidays
- January 5, 2009: School resumes (second term begins)
- February 16, 2009: Closed for Family Day
- February 27th, 2009: Third installment of tuition is due
- March 9th–13th, 2009: March Break Camp (we are not closed, included in tuition, third term begins)
- April 10, 2009: Closed for Good Friday
- April 13th, 2009: Closed for Easter
- May 18th, 2009: Closed for Victoria Day
- June 26th, 2009: Last day of school
- June 29th–July 3rd, 2009: Closed for Summer Program preparation & Canada Day
- July 6, 2009: First day of Summer Program
- July 31, 2009: Last day of Summer Program
- August 3rd, 2009–August 28, 2009: Closed for Civic Holiday, summer holidays
- August 31, 2009: First day of school year 2009–2010
Registration
The Admission Process
The procedure for admission to the Montessori Academy of Pembroke consists of four steps:
- Attendance at an Information Session or Open House
- Attending an Information Session or an Open House will help you understand the Montessori method of education. A video presentation will enable you to see how the Montessori philosophy works in the classroom.
- Application for Admission
- A deposit of $100 (non-refundable) must accompany each application. Upon receipt, we will acknowledge your application, and you will be advised that your child is currently on a wait list, pending admittance consideration.
- Interview with Parent(s) and child
- All prospective parents are required to come for an interview, accompanied by the child. We will set up a date and time that is mutually convenient.
- Offer of Admission and Registration
- Following the interview, the school will offer admission to your child, based on space availability. At this time, the school will request that you submit the following:
- Tuition agreement (Signed by both parents/guardians)
- Certificate for school entry
- Photocopy of birth certificate
- Payments (Post-dated cheques or full payment)
- Authorization form for alternative pick-ups
- Photo consent form
- Emergency medical treatment form
